Solar Check Up
After cleaning the Solar panels, a visual inspection for defects such as cracks, chips and discoloration will be carried out. A log will be maintained to note any defects that are found and these will be recorded in the logbook. These defects are then monitored for further deterioration and their effect on the efficiency of the system is recorded. Since most solar power systems are covered by warranty you can remedy the situation immediately by making a warranty claim.
Mounting structures that secure the solar panels to the roof will be inspected to ensure that they are secure and free of rust or corrosion. Wiring cables, conduits and switches will be inspected for loose wiring or breakages.
Inverters will be inspected to check if operating correctly and if the heat sinks and ventilation grills are clean. It should be free of dirt, dust, spider webs and vermin since this can lead to heat build up reducing the life of the inverter.
